Beth Andres-Beck
Software Engineer. Queer. Unitarian-Universalist. Mentor. Tenor. Progressive.
America could have good things: functional healthcare, honest government, safe schools, and a future we can take pride in building. I'm running for Congress because I believe we can have those things, not because we behave or wait our turn, but because we organize, show up, and believe in one another.
I've spent my career helping people build complex systems that actually work. I'm a Senior Staff Software Engineer and a lifelong collaborator. My job is to help teams work together to solve hard problems. That's also how I live: working side-by-side with others, staying radically pragmatic, and doing what needs to get done. Whether I'm leading developers, supporting a local Democratic committee, or serving on an affordable housing trust, I bring the same approach: listen, include everyone, and build something better than what we started with.
I grew up as the eldest of five in a resourceful, unconventional household. I was homeschooled by a passionate, independent-minded mom who encouraged curiosity and self-direction. I later attended St. Mary's High School in Medford, Oregon, an hour and a half from my rural home. It was a welcoming environment with high academic standards and a focus on service and integrity. It prepared me for my time at Smith College, where I studied everything from Economics to Poetry before graduating with a degree in Costume Design.
I'm agender, trans, queer, and proudly Unitarian-Universalist. I sing tenor in my church choir, mentor young people, and serve on multiple town committees. I've built a life rooted in mutual aid, public service, and showing up for the people around me.
If you're ready for practical progress, a representative who knows how to listen, I'm ready to take our voices to D.C.
